The 1966 collection was designed at the request of Florence Knoll, who wanted well-designed outdoor furniture that could withstand the aggressive salt air of Florida. Over the years, the 1966 collection has earned a special place in the outdoor furniture world and is considered a classic garden design. The cast and extruded aluminum frame is supported by a stainless steel base. The weather-resistant polyester powder coat finish with Gore™ Tenara® (Teflon) sewing thread adds durability to the entire piece without detracting from the timeless design.
