Exceptional collection of furniture made of bent metal bars
It has been a characteristic of the working environment at Knoll since its inception that Bertoia has never been asked to design specific furniture. Instead, they let him discover what he enjoyed. They simply asked him to come to them when he discovered something interesting. Cushions for the benches are available separately, but a maximum of three. This simply designed bench was the first piece of furniture Harry Bertoia created for Knoll, and although it doesn't feature the typical wire lattice like other pieces in the collection, the bench's welded metal construction is the best foreshadowing of all that followed.
